Exhibition preview in Split
Trial run of the City | Data | Future exhibition in Split, opened at July the 3rd (2014) in the Gallery of The City Museum of Split, in old city center, as a preview of the exhibition premiere in Venice, eight selected works was shown.
Five works were initiated at the UrbanIxD summer school, held last year in Split: Aurora, the Aural City; Aural Fixation; Future Cloud is Buried; Ministry of Misinformation (MoMi); and Coordination of Urban Busy Areas (CUBA). Two works have been curated for the City | Data | Future exhibition: Chupan Chupai, by Factory Fifteen, produced by Liam Young; and Blackspot by Tobias Revell, taken from The Monopoly of Legitimate Use trilogy. Eutropia design fiction has been directly commissioned from the Arts Academy in Split exclusively for UrbanIxD exhibition.
Invited keynote lecturer, James Auger, from Royal College of Art (London), from his practice and education experience, talked about speculative design practice and methodology.
The exhibition was open until 19th of July. In total 500 people visited exhibition. Since, it was held in high tourist season, gallery had international public.
Split exhibition was supported by The City Council and Croatian Ministry of Culture.
